Badge of CRLA Certification

We are here to help you become a successful student in your courses.

In the Learning Centre, peer tutors work with you to improve your academic skills (writing, reading, study, math and computer skills) and you’re understanding of course concepts. Peer tutors are students who are hired and trained by the Learning Centre. They are not college instructors; when they can't help you, they may refer you to a Learning Centre faculty member or to your instructor.

During our open hours, we have a tutor at our front desk to answer quick questions and provide referrals. If your question is more involved, we can help you set up an appointment with a tutor or find a resource to answer it.

All services provided by the Learning Centre are free to Douglas College students.

Consultation Appointment

Choose "Consultation" as what you'd like to "Get Help with..." when you make an appointment, and you can reserve one-on-one time with a tutor to discuss your tutoring needs. The tutor can provide help with basic study skills, recommend resources and additional tutoring resources.

Our Front Desk

Don't have time to make an appointment? Or not sure if you need one? You can stop in to the Learning Centre on either campus during our open hours to talk to the peer tutor at the front desk. If they can't answer your question, they can help you find the resources you need.
