A note on copyright restrictions: Only students enrolled in your course should be given access to this material and they will only be made available for the semester it is being requested for. If you need this in another semester, you must request it again.
Please refer to our Guide on copyright for more information on the guidelines for using copyrighted materials.
If you have questions or concerns about copyright contact resourcelist@douglascollege.ca and we can work on it together.
Step 1: Have an item in a Talis Aspire list you would like to digitize.
Step 2: Click on the three vertical dots on the far right of the item in the list.
Step 3: Select “request digitization.”
Step 4: Fill out the fields of the pop up as best you can. Be sure to de-select “This is a full chapter” if it is only a portion of a chapter or a work.
Step 5: Press NEXT once you have finished filling this half of the form.
Step 6: Fill out this final form with date you are making the request as your start date, and the end of the semester as your end date. The needed by date is a week from the date you are making the request. For the number of students in the course, if you are not sure just input the maximum number of students that may enroll in your course.
*Note: If you see a message after pressing submit that says that your request will need to be manually processed by a librarian, this is normal.
It should not take more than a few working days to fulfill a request, depending on how much material there is to digitize. Once we have done so, you will receive an email from our staff with the details of your request. If everything was OK then there will also be a link to the content that has been digitized for you as well as the date it will be available.
After your Digitization request has been completed, you will be sent a link to all of the materials you requested be digitized. In order to view this material it must be linked in one of your Talis lists. Students and Faculty will need to login using their CNA credentials in order to view it both on and off campus.
