Overview

Regardless of format it's important to cite any external sources you used in your academic work. Some general tips for posters:

Choose the citation style most commonly used in your discipline
Consider your space limitations and design aesthetic when deciding how to provide your citations. Some options include:
- Provide an abbreviated reference within your text
- Create a "References" section at the end of the relevant section or at the bottom of the poster
- Provide a handout or QR code for your references
Your poster should present your key findings - not every single thing your project uncovered - so you should only need to include your most crucial sources
- If your poster requires a substantial bibliography you likely need to cut some content!
