  • This element ends with a comma.

  • If the source has a version or edition, include this in your citation.  

  • Books are commonly published in versions called editions.  They may published as revised edition, 2nd edition, expanded edition etc.  Abbreviate edition to ed. and revised to rev. 

    • Audiovisual material may also appear in versions such as unabridged version or director's cut.

    • "You can also use the Version element to specify that you have used an e-book version of a printed book" (MLA Handbook, 9th ed., p.155).
