While many artificial intelligence tools (both new and old) seem like they can save time and effort, students must check with their instructors and read their syllabi/assignment descriptions carefully to know what use of AI (if any) is allowed.
Every instructor will have a different idea of what they consider to be inappropriate or appropriate use of AI and the inappropriate use of AI in class assignments and assessments can lead to serious consequences for students.
If students are allowed to use AI tools in assignments, be sure to carefully check any AI output to make sure it is correct and properly cite the tool(s) used.
