Publishing plans

What is a publishing plan?

A publishing plan functions as an organizing tool and also as a road map to help you achieve your research and publishing goals.  You'll use it to flesh out your research question and think through the details of your project, such as:

  • establishing your research data management plan

  • choosing which methodologies you'll use

  • determining your target participants / how you'll recruit them

  • deciding if it will be a solo project or one with research partners
    • identifying research partners & agreeing on the division of tasks

  • plotting out a timeline for your project

  • estimating your budget requirements

  • identifying potential funding sources

  • identifying tools/software and training you might require

  • determining your ideal publishing venue
