Library instruction

Douglas College Librarians can offer library instruction to your students both in-person and online, depending on the format of your class.

We have also created videos, tutorials, and other resources that can be used by your students asynchronously. Depending on the needs of your class, we can tailor an assignment guide with the appropriate online learning materials gathered in one place. Some of the videos and tutorials we have created cover topics including searching for books and ebooks in the Library's catalogue, navigating the Library's website, searching for articles in various databases (Academic Search Complete, Business Source Ultimate, Canadian Newsstream, and PsycINFO), improving library search techniques, and citing and evaluating resources.

We offer synchronous library research and citation sessions (via Zoom, or in-person) and our library assignments can be submitted, graded, and returned digitally or using a paper copy.

Contact

Please contact the acting Information Literacy Librarian, Alicia Arding or the Instructional Support library technician, Nicole Sevigny, at librarylab@douglascollege.ca to discuss your library learning needs. We are looking forward to collaborating with instructional faculty to support their students as we continue to navigate teaching in-person and online.

We have modified our online booking forms for you to use. If you'd like a synchronous class or just an assignment guide created for your students to use asynchronously, please use the booking form.
